The state of California passed the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), AB 375, in June 2018 for the privacy rights and consumer protection for the residents of California, U.S.A. It went into effect on January 1, 2020. The personal privacy risks, associated with the collection, use and resale of personal information of California residents are addressed by the CCPA.
